Historic Term for the U.S. Supreme Court
The Supreme Court plays a key role in our government. It heads the judicial branch. That branch checks and balances the actions of the president (executive branch) and of Congress (legislative branch).
But those two branches also check the court’s powers. The president chooses the justices. The Senate must approve them.
