In U.S., Hmong Struggle with Changing Gender Roles
As a child, Misty Her spent time in a refugee (noun used as adj.) someone forced to leave his or her country camp in Thailand. She used to sneak to the schoolhouse and listen through a hole in the wall. She knew she could never attend. She was Hmong and a girl.
Much has changed since then. Her is now a leader in the Fresno, California, school system. She has a college degree.
