Pilot Program Offers Free HIV Tests at Drugstores Nationwide
Would you go to a drugstore to get an HIV test? Health officials hope the answer is yes. They have started a pilot (noun used as adj.) small trial or test program to find out. They hope to make HIV testing a routine service at drugstores. The pilot program runs through next summer.
A Test Run
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is running the $1.2 million project. It will offer fast, free HIV tests at drugstores in 24 cities and rural areas.
